I wanted to make something that reminded me of my childhood. I started with an idea of which music I loved as a kid. Weird Al Yankovich has always been a family favorite and I remember fondly my parents, my brother and sister and I jamming to Weird Al cassettes on the long 12 hour drive from Pennsylvania to the Outer Banks, NC. My brother owned every single one of them. Some of our favorite tracks were "Harvey the Wonder Hampster", "Another One Rides The Bus", and "I Love Rocky Road" but really we loved them all. I decided to recreate our beloved Chevy Astro Van and to place objects inside that we took with us every year: Moms knitting, books, paint sets, my barbies, a boogie board, our weeks worth of belongings piled high in the trunk and of course our red Igloo cooler that has seen more than its fair share of road trips and parties. This is simply a glimpse into my childhood but one that has shaped my appreciation for all things Weird Al.
