JOANNA CONSTANTINE

My interest in sewing started about 25 years ago as a little girl wanting to be just like my mom, who was always sewing. We started simple by learning how to sew a straight line on scraps of fabric. This is where my passion for sewing began. I wanted to make so many different things. I made simple cloths, like skirts and Halloween costumes, such as a monkey costume, and eventually elaborate dresses for school dances. My most recent endeavors have been fantasy costumes for my niece. Her favorite was a mermaid costume that I redesigned to be exactly what she wanted. It was a fun, collaborative project that resulted in the glittery, shiny blue and purple costumes here on my website. These projects for my niece are what inspired me to obtain my Bachelors Degree from Flagler College this past spring. I've taken the first step toward obtaining my MFA in Costume Technology and now I am about to move onto the next step as I prepare to attend grad school.
