The Spitfire Grill is a story about a young girl named Percy, just off the bus after being released from prison. She had found an image of the birch trees of Wisconsin in a magazine and decided to start over in the small town of Gilead. The town itself is on the verge of a reawakening leading Percy down a new path she never expected.
