The Lightner Museum, St. Augustine FL

The Lightner Museum in St. Augustine Florida is a beautiful historic monument of America's Oldest City. It was built as the Alcazar Hotel in 1888 by famed millionaire Henry Flagler. The Lightner Museum is now a beautiful attraction in downtown St. Augustine FL and is currently hosting "Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times". I was hired as an intern at the Lightner Museum for the summer of 2017 to design and construct costumes for the tour guides of the "Upstairs/Downstairs Tour. These costume pieces consisted of twelve aprons and twelve floor length black skirts for the ladies to wear as the 'maids' and twelve black vests for the gentlemen to wear as the 'butlers'. I am very excited that the aprons and skirts that I made were recently worn on First Coast News, a news program based in Jacksonville Florida, as part of promoting the exhibit!
